Kevin Müller, the goalkeeper for 1. FC Heidenheim, experienced a concussion following a severe collision during a Bundesliga match against VfL Bochum. This was confirmed after an examination late Friday evening, as reported by the club the day after the goalless draw between the two relegation-threatened teams.
The incident occurred when Müller collided with opponent Ibrahima Sissoko while vying for the ball, leaving him unconscious on the field. After more than ten minutes of treatment, the goalkeeper was transported off the field on a stretcher to the cheers of both fan groups, and was taken to Heidenheim Hospital.
FCH coach Frank Schmidt stated on the evening of the incident, “That was a classic knockout, and we hope he returns quickly.” The duration of Müller’s absence from the game remains uncertain.
