Harry Kane, making his title debut, and record champion Thomas Müller are looking forward to an emotional Meisterfeier at their home stadium. The ceremony, taking place during Müller’s final home game this upcoming weekend, will celebrate Bayern’s reclaimed trophy, marking the culmination of a momentous day filled with heartfelt tributes.

Bierdusche Instead of Champagne Rain

After a festive evening at the upscale Munich restaurant Käfer, where Kane led the celebrations with a rendition of the Queen song „We Are the Champions“, he is set to gain insights from the seasoned Müller ahead of the weekend. This time, however, the post-match celebrations will feature traditional beer showers instead of the usual champagne splashes.

“We now have time to enjoy having won the Bundesliga,” stated coach Vincent Kompany, reveling in the team’s 34th championship title.

Night of Revelry

The star-studded team celebrated deep into the night with classic party tunes, champagne, and victory cigars, securing the title after Bayer Leverkusen’s draw against Freiburg. England’s national team captain Kane and DFB captain Joshua Kimmich sang along to popular songs like “Sweet Caroline” and “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Kane shared moments from the celebration online, including a picture of Kimmich drenched and holding a large champagne bottle.

Müller’s Cryptic Message

Müller left fans puzzled over a hidden message in his Instagram post, which featured a black image captioned „Deutscher Fußballmeister“ adorned with four emojis. The significance of the post remains a mystery.

However, fans are clear about when they can expect the trophy presentation. The German Football League announced that the 11-kilogram trophy will be awarded after the match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. “We are champions again, and the trophy is coming home next Saturday,” declared board chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen.

Double Celebration on the Rathaus Balcony

Following the home match, Müller will make his final appearance at Bayern after a remarkable 25-year career. He is set to participate in the lucrative Club World Cup from June 14 to July 13 in the USA, where Bayern is considered a title contender. It remains to be seen if Müller will retire or seek a new adventure abroad.

“We are looking forward to celebrating with the fans next Saturday in the stadium and later on the Rathaus balcony,” said sporting director Max Eberl, who shares the excitement of title debut with Kane. Bayern’s men’s and women’s teams will present their trophies on May 18 from the Rathaus balcony at Marienplatz amidst a sea of red and white flags and thousands of fans.

While the women celebrate their first double this season, the men faced early exits from the cup and were eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, missing the much-anticipated “Finale dahoam” on May 31. “We brought the trophy back to Munich, which is a great feeling and a well-deserved reward for an intense season,” remarked sporting director Christoph Freund.

Personnel Matters Ahead

Amid the celebrations, Freund and Eberl must also address several personnel matters over the upcoming weekends in May. Notably, the future of winger Leroy Sané remains uncertain, and speculation surrounds a potential transfer of Florian Wirtz from dethroned double champions Bayer Leverkusen as a coveted gift for the championship.
